Mr. Richard Kennedy has several years of financial management
experience coupled with five years of corporate strategy
and turnaround consulting experience. He is extremely
detailed oriented and has an excellent understanding
of both profitability and growth strategies. Richard
possesses unique leadership abilities and is capable
of assisting both executive and lower level management.
Richard
graduated from Wake Forest University in 1993 with a
B.S. in Business Administration concentrating in Finance.
He also obtained an M.B.A. from the University of Georgia
in 1998 concentrating in Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurship.
Prior
to receiving his Masters degree, Richard worked as a
credit analyst for a large regional bank. He was responsible
for analyzing the financial viability of corporate loan
applicants and their potential debt facilities. He also
spent several years as the financial manager for a $30
million oil distribution company where he managed $5
million of accounts receivable, developed all pro forma
statements for financing purposes, and performed due
diligence and valuation analysis for several acquisitions.
After
leaving the University of Georgia, Richard spent over
four years in Chicago as a corporate strategy consultant
for PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was a member of the Value
Based Management group which helped clients focus on
the ideal combination of improved profitability and
value accretive growth. As a consultant he assisted
in creating and implementing process improvements, analyzing
and reducing excessive cost centers, and performing
asset portfolio analysis to identify value destroying
areas of the business.
More
specifically, Richard assisted several publicly traded
oil and gas exploration companies perform scenario analyses
to develop strategies for declining assets. He assisted
in the development of multiple performance management
systems that aligned appropriate key performance indicators
with sophisticated business models. He developed complex
financial models that measured the sensitivity of firm
value to changes in specific value drivers. These sensitivities
aided in appropriately managing operational and strategic
changes.
Richard
joined Aurora Management Partners early in 2002. Since
then he has assisted in engagements across many industries
including: light and heavy manufacturing, distribution,
construction and agriculture. He has been responsible
for managing inventory, purchasing and production functions,
for developing micro-level cash management tools, and
for developing refinancing packages targeted at financial
institutions, factoring organizations, key creditors
and private investors.
Richard
currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia and is an active
member of both the Atlanta and Nashville Turnaround
Management Association. He has passed all parts of the
Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) Exam and is
in the process a packaging his remaining credentials
to gain his CTP designation.
