Mr. Steve Smerjac recently joined Aurora Management
Partners as a finance and operations consultant. Steve’s
specialty is in working with turnaround management situations
that require detailed analysis and the implementation
of fiscal, operational and risk management strategies.
Applying over 12 years of experience in business operations,
financial analysis, portfolio management, and due diligence,
Steve works closely with Aurora’s clients to identify
their unique goals and develop solutions that will effectively
improve client profits and bottom-line productivity.
From
July 2001 to the present, Steve has been the owner and
CEO of KNZ Consulting, Inc., a Georgia-based firm that
provides finance, management and operational consulting
services to clients generating $12 million to $150 million
in annual revenue. At KNZ, Steve has acted as an interim
CFO for two clients, enabling them to successfully navigate
a critical change management period. He has productively
restructured operational processes for the majority
of his clients, working in the manufacturing sector,
and providing warehouse and delivery accounting structures
to maximize clients’ operations and revenue gains.
From
May 1991 to July 2001, Steve worked for Transamerica
Commercial Finance Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia.
As Transamerica’s Group & Regional Manager,
Steve led the Operations and Credit Departments, with
direct oversight of $250 million in receivables. He
supervised a professional team of 20 financial specialists
with individual credit authorities of up to $750,000.
In this position, Steve applied an expert knowledge
in UCC law, secured lending status, creditors’
rights in business-to-business collections, bankruptcy
law, and other secured and non-secured lending rights.
Prior to Transamerica, Steve enjoyed a military career
with the United States Marine Corps.
Complementing
Steve’s applied business and consulting experience,
he received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
degree from Georgia State University in 2003, where
he represented the university in the Turnaround Management
Competition. Steve received his Bachelor of Arts degree
in Business Administration and Marketing from Colorado
State University in 1991.
