Aurora Appointed Receiver to Montgomery Transport Group

On October 28^th, 2025, Aurora Management Partners was appointed as Federal Equity Receiver to Montgomery Transport Group, Inc. et al, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama Southern Division (case no: 2:25-cv-01772-MHH). Overseeing the company operations is Managing Director David Baker, Senior Managing Director Laura Kendall, Director Blake Tillis, and Consultants Cally McGee and Andrew Pryts.

Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, Montgomery Transportation Group is a family of affiliated companies providing total logistics solutions to a variety of industries. Services include shipping construction and manufacturing materials, over-the-road flatbed transport, 3^rd party logistics, and specialized capacity transportation of over-dimensional goods.  The entities collectively hold in excess of 1500 units for transportation needs nationwide.

In addition to current out-of-court restructurings, Aurora is currently appointed as State Receiver to Covenance Manufacturing and All Nations Distillery, both in Kentucky, and Federal Receiver to Besse Forest Products in Michigan and Notre Dame College in Ohio. In Chapter 11 bankruptcies, Aurora is currently serving as Chief Restructuring Officer to Wellmade Flooring and Gardener’s Supply Company, as well as Financial Advisor to Handlos Family Farms and to the Unsecured Creditors Committee in the Eventide Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. Additionally, in court appointment, Aurora is serving as Liquidating Trustee to Taronis Fuels and Plan Administrator to Tessemae’s following their respective Chapter 11 bankruptcy plan confirmations.
