Aurora Appointed Receiver to Sawgrass Grand Senior Living Project
Charlotte, NC– On April 4, 2022 the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court in and for Miami-Dade County, Florida appointed Aurora Management Partners as Receiver for SGSL Fee Owner, LLC et al (case 22-005848-CA-01). The Parties stipulated and agreed to the appointment of Aurora Management Partners as Receiver for the Sawgrass Project. The Aurora team overseeing the Sawgrass case includes David Baker, Managing Partner, a member of the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers (NAFER), Laura Kendall, Senior Managing Director, Matthew Dossey, Director, Travis Grody, Associate Director, and Andrew Pryts, Consultant.
The Sawgrass Project is a planned assisted senior living facility in Sunrise, Florida. In 2019, Bonds were issued to finance the acquisition, renovation, furnishing and equipping of an existing 291-room hotel to be converted to an assisted living and memory care facility for the elderly, compromised of approximately 194 senior living units.
Aurora is currently serving as Federal Equity Receiver for AgTech Scientific Group, LLC (case: 5:21-cv-00190) as well as Timber Creek Holdings, et al. (case 1:2019cv02377). Aurora has previously been appointed as Federal Equity Receiver for Independence Lumber, Roberts Auto Center LLC, Pyote Water Systems, as well as Knight Industries I LLC.
